USA Team Handball is proud to present its 2013 High Performance Camp Series and Olympic Invitational program exclusively crafted for excellent athletes who are either brand new to the sport of team handball or seeking specialized and individualized instruction to make quick developmental progress.
The goal of the USATH HP Camp(s) and Olympic Invitational program is to identify athletes with the high potential to move quickly up the Olympic Pipeline with the ultimate goal of being selected to the National Team(s) in respective age categories, and to represent the USA in international competitions such as Pan American Championships, Pan American games, World Championships and ultimately the Olympics in 2016 and beyond.
For the first camp, directed by National Team Head Coach - Javier Garcia Cuesta, we would like to invite female athletes 16 years of age and older to join us for weekend-long intense training at the USOC Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, April 12-14, where we will conduct four (4) on court training and evaluative practices, theory sessions, and athletic and handball specific talent screen.
It is a unique opportunity not only to be officially evaluated for consideration to our National Team Pools, but to also become eligible for subsequent selection to our regional HP Elite Teams, National Teams, and even our flexible long-term residency program for National Team players on the path to the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The registration opens today but there are only 24 slots open for the camp and it is first come, first serve. Interested female players must register by clicking the link here.
Potential candidates are responsible for arranging their own car transportation to/from Lake Placid or by air to Albany, NY, or Saranac Lake, NY196, airports by 3 pm on April 12. Those who arrive in Albany will be shuttled by the USOC bus to the OTC. Participants should plan on departing from Lake Placid on April 14 by car after 2 pm and by air, from Albany or Saranac Lake, after 5 pm. Individual travel plans must be submitted to Mariusz@usateamhandball.org no later than on April 5 to secure the free shuttle.
Players should plan on bringing standard workout gear including non-marking shoes, water bottle, handball, a positive attitude and a lots of energy to learn handball skills and concepts from our famous coach.
