USA Team Handball, in partnership with the USOC and under leadership of MNT Head Coach Javier Garcia Cuesta, will conduct National Team Tryouts and Olympic Residency Evaluations starting in February 9 and subsequent second Saturday of each month in the USOC Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

This regular evaluation opportunity launches country wide search for high caliber athletes, for both Senior National Teams, seeking acceptance to NT Pool, US Armed Forces World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) and long-term flexible residency program aimed at 2016 Olympic qualifications. Both, current W/MNT members and new candidates must go through the formal testing procedure prepared by coach Garcia Cuesta.

Interested players and new athletes must register online, here

All candidates are responsible for arranging their own transportation to/from Colorado Springs along with Room & Board and should plan on arriving in town Friday evening and depart late in the evening on Saturday or on Sunday. On the day of testing, there will be two on court evaluation sessions at the Olympic training Center, one in the morning (9-11 am) and one in early afternoon (3-5 pm). Athletes need to bring with standard workout gear, including non-marking shoes.

Written formal evaluation forms will be emailed to each athlete within 10 days after the tryouts together with recommendation regarding acceptance for residency program tentatively scheduled to begin in early fall of 2013.

Players who are currently serving in the armed forces should contact USATH WCAP liaison - MAJ Michael Tilton via email for more information.
