2013 College National Championships will be co-hosted by the Carolina Handball Club at the University of North Carolina, April 19-21!
USA Team Handball announced today that the 2013 College National Championships will be co-hosted by the Carolina Handball Club on the University of North Carolina campus in Chapel Hill, April 19-21.
Famous Fetzer Hall, located at 101 Student Recreation Center CB #8610, Chapel Hill, NC 27514, will be the main competition venue featuring two full size wooden floor courts. Quality Inn has been designated as a headquarters accommodation hotel while University Inn will serve as a secondary over-flow place to stay during the competition. Both have free parking, include breakfast and internet included in their rates, are very conveniently located near the venue, and will have blocks of rooms reserved for all participating teams. More detailed information along with an official registration packet will be released in January. Competition in both, women’s and men’s divisions will commence late afternoon on Friday, April 19 with championship matches tentatively planned for early afternoon on Sunday, April 21. The field of participating teams should be wider and more competitive than in the last couple of years, as in addition to returning powerhouses of West Point Black and Gold, home teams of Carolina, runners-up from Texas A & M, US Air Force Academy and US Merchant Marine Academy, several new teams from renowned schools such as University of Michigan, Ohio University in Oxford, Illinois State University, Ohio State University in Columbus, Kennesaw State University, Clemson University, Virginia Military Institute, The Citadel, Colorado State University, and Texas State University are expected to compete for the first time.
There are special incentives available exclusively for new collegiate women’s programs established that would enter teams into the 2013 Championships. Please contact USATH Technical Director at email@example.com for full details.
