The Athletic Performance Center (APC) is a 20,000 square-foot facility in Raleigh, North Carolina, that provides sports physical therapy and sports performance enhancement services for healthy and injured athletes of all ages. The facility utilizes the expertise of physical therapy, athletic training, and strength and conditioning staff to provide the resources necessary to enhance every phase of the athlete's development. In addition, the APC provides services to athletes that include Pilates/yoga, sports massage therapy, chiropractic care and nutritional consultation.
The Athletic Performance Center is a division of Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic (ROC), Wake County's largest and oldest orthopaedic practice. The 16 orthopaedic surgeons of ROC are fellowship trained in their respective subspecialty areas, which include foot and ankle, hand and wrist, spine, hip, shoulder and elbow surgery, total joint replacement, sports medicine, and pediatric orthopaedic care. ROC is the Official Sports Medicine Provider of the NHL Carolina Hurricanes, North Carolina State University, the Carolina Ballet and multiple high school sports programs and youth organizations in Wake County.
The Athletic Performance Center is proud to be an official medical provider to USA Team Handball. During the combine in Chapel Hill, which was held at the University of North Carolina from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, the APC was on-site providing a variety of services and coverage to these athletes.
The APC helped coordinate and facilitate the combine, which consisted of six different tests the athletes were measured on. In addition, the APC had an athletic trainer on-site tending to the athletes needs and any injuries that may have been encountered.
