BEIJING (AP) Defending Olympic champion Croatia reached the men's handball semifinals Wednesday with a 26-24 win over Denmark.
Goran Sprem scored seven goals and Mirza Dzomba added six for the Croatians. Lars Roslyng Chrstiansen led Denmark with six goals.
Croatia advanced to play France in the semifinals. France defeated Russia 27-24.
Iceland will play Spain in the other semifinal. Iceland defeated Poland 32-30, and Spain beat South Korea 29-24.
Daniel Narcisse scored nine goals and Luc Abalo added seven to help France remain unbeaten at the Olympics. France led the Russians 14-10 at halftime, and never trailed in the second half.
Iceland defeated Poland 32-30. Three times in the second half, Poland cut Iceland's lead to one goal but couldn't get closer. Alexander Petersson scored six goals for the winners. Mateusz Jachlewski and Grzegorz Tkaczyk both scored six goals for Poland.
Spain and South Korea were tied 17-all in the second half before Spain scored the next seven goals, including four by Albert Rocas, to take control for good. Rocas finished with eight goals, and Juan Garcia scored six.
