COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The process of selecting a National Team Coach for USA Taekwondo ends today with the announcement that Coach Patrice Remarck has been selected for that position. Coach Remarck brings a wealth of experience to the job as National Team Coach. I, Interim CEO Bruce Harris, was responsible for making the decision of who would be hired as National Team Coach. The Coach Selection process included more than 20 coach applicants from the start of the process. A Selection Committee was named to help with the process of selecting a National Team Coach. This decision was not an easy one to make. The five final candidates were all excellent, passionate to grow and develop our Taekwondo athletes and exceedingly knowledgeable and experienced at their craft. There was even a poll of elite Taekwondo athletes that was conducted by the USOC AAC Representative on the USA Taekwondo Board of Directors, Ms. Lynda Laurin. The insights gained from their comments were given great consideration. In-person interviews of the final five candidates were also a very helpful part of this process that helped lead me to a decision. It is a very positive thing that our country has so many excellent coaches, all of whom could do an outstanding job as National Team Coach. It is my fervent hope that all of them will stay engaged in the growth, development and the coaching of our Taekwondo athletes. Truly, we need a collaborative effort from our elite coaches if we are to take our athletes to the heights that we all believe that they can achieve. So, I earnestly ask of those coaches who were not selected, please help our athletes to be able to perform at their best as they represent our United States of America.
