Oosthoek resigns as Director of Events

July 30, 2013, 4:38 p.m. (ET)

After more than four years with USA Taekwondo, Director of Events Travis Oosthoek resigned this week to pursue a career in collegiate athletics events.

“It has been a pleasure working for USA Taekwondo,” Oosthoek said. “The USAT membership and staff have really made my job special these last few years. Thank you to everyone for being so helpful along the way.”

Oosthoek worked with USAT as the Events Manager from June 2007-April 2009, and then returned in January 2011 to serve as the Events and High Performance Manager before taking over as Director of Events in March 2012. During his tenure as Director of Events, Oosthoek helped to grow the U.S. Open and the USAT National Championships to record numbers.

“Travis will be missed in this organization,” said USAT CEO Bruce Harris. “We all got to see what a phenomenal job he did with our events, but his daily enthusiasm in the office will undoubtedly be a big loss for USAT.”

USAT is in the process of filling the Director of Events position and expects the transition into the 2014 events schedule to be seamless.
