WTF to Hold World Youth Taekwondo Camp - Deadline Extended

The World Taekwondo Federation will hold the World Youth Taekwondo Camp in close cooperation with the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation in Seoul and Muju, Korea from August 6 to 11, 2009.

The camp was initiated as part of the WTF Solidarity Program in line with International Olympic Committee's inauguration of the Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Singapore in 2010.  The camp will provide the world youth practicing taekwondo with high-level taekwondo training and education of Olympic values as well as taekwondo spirit.  The camp also includes a friendship Kyorugi competition under the same weight category system of the Youth Olympic Games, through which participants could experience the competition system of the Youth Olympic Games in advance.

NOTE: It has been decided to extend the application deadline to June 30, 2009 in consideration of busy schedules of Member National Associations in their preparations for the WTF World Cup Team Championships, 1st WTF World Para-Taekwondo Championships in June in Baku, Azerbaijan and 2009 WTF World Taekwondo Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark in October 2009 and the other international taekwondo competitions in different continents to be held this year.
