Athlete Development Camp Opportunity

Aug. 14, 2009, 1:40 p.m. (ET)

Athletes at the USA Taekwondo Athlete Development Camp in August will have a head start over the competition by getting the chance to train with the LaJust Electronic Scoring System.

August 14 - There are still spots remaining for the USA Taekwondo Athlete Development Camp, scheduled to take place at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from August 25 - 30, 2009.  This camp is a great way for athletes to start refining their Taekwondo techniques and skills during the off-season.  To encourage the athletes who are still thinking about coming to this great event, USAT will be extending the early registration deadline for the camp to Tuesday, August 18th.

A unique feature of this camp is a controlled scrimmage that will take place on the last day of training.  The scrimmage or practice matches will utilize official USAT referees so that athletes will get the opportunity to truly apply what they have learned in training during the course of the week.

On top of the great training and instruction that athletes will receive, participants will get to meet members of the 2009 U.S. National Team, including 4 time reigning World Champion, Steven Lopez and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Silver medalist, Mark Lopez!  Athletes will also get to watch one of the National Team training sessions to see how they are preparing for the 2009 World Championships in Denmark this Fall.

For more information and to register for the 2009 USAT Athlete Development Camp, please open the attachment or click HERE.  Participants must be at least 12 years of age and a current member of USA Taekwondo.  This will be the last training camp of the year, so do not hesitate to be a part of this great experience!
