When the World Taekwondo Federation moved back the date of the World Poomsae Championships to Dec. 16-18, it coincided with the final exam schedule for Anthony and Johnny Nguyen and their studies at the University of Arizona. Therefore, the Nguyens and their partner on the 14-35 Male Team, Jason Hwang, have ceded their spots at the world championships. USA Taekwondo is exploring options for replacement athletes.

In addition, Muhammad Chishti (Carlsbad, Calif.) will compete in Johnny Nguyen's spot in the 19-30 Male individual competition. Chishti was runner-up in that division at the trials and is also competing in the 14-35 pairs division.
