May 08, 2008, 1 a.m. (ET)
The 6-pack of Coke Athletes, including taekwondo's Steven Lopez, will be on the Today Show tomorrow morning between 8:30 and 9 a.m. They will be talking about the Olympics and being Ambassadors of Active Living for Coca-Cola. Beginning on May 19, people in the U.S. will notice unique changes to 12-ounce cans and FridgePacks of Coca-Cola with the release of limited edition, Olympic-themed collectible cans bearing the iconic Coca-Cola logo in different languages. Can designs will feature the languages of Ethiopia, Russia, Thailand, the U.S. and China, giving Americans a 'taste' of how Coca-Cola is recognized around the world. These new cans mark the first appearance of the Coca-Cola script in different languages in the United States, with new designs appearing every two or three weeks. To create excitement for the upcoming Games, a special Coca-Cola "Six Pack" of athletes will be featured on collectible packaging and in-store materials. The "Six Pack" includes gold medalists Natalie Coughlin (swimming), Steven Lopez (taekwondo) and Sanya Richards (track , field); Olympians LeBron James (USA Basketball) and Andy Potts (triathlon); and Olympic hopeful Shawn Johnson (gymnastics). Leading by example, the athletes also are serving as Coca-Cola "Ambassadors of Active Living" to help encourage and inspire people to lead active, balanced lives. ###
