She's won the Pan American Games, the North American Championships and represented the USA at the Rio Olympics - but one thing is yet to be added to her star-studded list of achievements. As the Women's Singles event begins on July 5th at the 2017 SuperMicro US National Table Tennis Championships, Wu Yue, or Jennifer as she is known to her teammates and friends, will be aiming for the National Women's Singles Championship title.

Losing out in the quarterfinals at her debut National Championships appearance last year to Rio Olympic teammate Jiaqi Zheng, this year her second place seeding will hopefully bring a better draw and present an opportunity to progress further in the rounds.

Jennifer hopes just to do her best but is trying to keep the pressure at bay.

'I really want to win this time, but I can't think about it. I just need to prepare before each match and hope I can do my best this year' - Wu Yue.

After a great performance at the 2017 World Table Tennis Championships where she paired with Lily Zhang to reach the Women's Doubles quarterfinals, Wu is spending some time at Yellowstone National Park with her family to relax before making her final preparations for Nationals.

Of course Wu recognizes the road ahead will not be easy, with some tough competition from 2008 Olympic Quarterfinalist Wang Chen who defeated Wu on the first day of the 2017 National Team Trial, and of course top seed and three time National Champion Lily Zhang.

'She is the first seed of the Nationals and has a high world ranking, she is a great player with a lot of experience' - Wu Yue on teammate and top seed Lily Zhang.

Either way, come July 5th when the women's singles begins in Las Vegas there are sure to be some incredible displays of table tennis. Be sure to come along and check it out, day passes and 6 day passes available. See one of the USA's largest table tennis events! Go to ticket page.
