Nation's Best To Fight for Hawkeye Title

A contingent of top class players from around the USA will head to Iowa for the 2017 Hawkeye Open on August 18th with over 150 players entered in the tournament. Another impressive event organized by Meng-Yu Wang, Dylan Garland and Arnold Kompaniyets will see a host of 2600 and 2700 level players clash for the top prize.

Leading the seedings is 2016 US Open finalist Bob Chen, currently rated 2766, but he will face some stiff competition - his main opponent ICC teammate and 2014 US Open Champion Tao Wenzhang (2734). Rounding off the top seeds are Jishan Liang (2676), Azeez Jamiu (2613), Yichi Zhang (2600) and Meng Lingshuai (2529) along with other top competitors the likes of Chance Friend, Wei Qi, Rajat Hubli, Tianming Xie and Samson Dubina.

The event entry deadline has been extended to the 15th August and can be entered via Omnipong. Aside from an amazing table tennis event, which features a host of ratings events from U2550 down, there will be a coaching clinic run by Ohio's top coach Samson Dubina which has filled up with the maximum 40 players.

To add to the excitement the tournament will be streamed live on USA Table Tennis YouTube Channel with commentary which adds yet another professional dimension to the event.
