USATT Announces 2013 Coach of the Year Selections

USATT Announces 2013 Coach of the Year Selections 

The 2013 Coach of the Year Selection Committee is made up of the following individuals: 

Carl Danner – High Performance Committee Chairman
Fede Bassetti – Coaching Advisory Committee Chairman
Jasna Rather – Para Program Director
Khoa Nguyen – Athlete Advisory Council Representative
Doru Gheorghe – High Performance Director / Technical Director /USATT COO 

Following an open nomination process, the 2013 COY Selection Committee met by teleconference for purposes of reviewing nomination documents and for making selections for the categories available.  Following this review process, the following USATT members were selected as USATT’s Coach of the Year! 

Ariel Hsing, Lily Yip, and Judy Hugh
 National COY – Lily Yip 
Stefan Feth and Prachi Jha
Development COY – Stefan Feth
Angie Bengtsson
Para COY – Angie Bengtsson
Larry Hodges
Doc Counsilman Science Award – Larry Hodges

Volunteer COY – No Nominations Received 

Stefan, Lily, Angie and Larry have been submitted to the U.S. Olympic Committee as USATT’s nominations for  Coach of the Year recognition in their respective categories for USOC consideration for selection as USOC’s Coach of the Year against all other sport nominees. 

Established in 2004, the Doc Counsilman Science Award recognizes a coach who utilizes scientific techniques and equipment as an integral part of his/her coaching methods or has created innovative ways to use sport science.

Congratulations to each of our COY winners!  They each are to be commended for their professional and on-going contributions to the promotion of our sport through the coaching services provided to our athletes.
