USA Table Tennis Nominating and Governance Committee

This year we are seeking to fill one (1) of the At Large Director positions.  This position will be filled by an election of the general members of USATT.

The deadline for nominations is December 10, 2012.  To be eligible to be a candidate, a person must be a general member for at least 60 days prior to the cut off date for the nominations. For this election a person must have been a general member from October 11, 2012 to December 10, 2012.  Each director of the Board of Directors must also be a citizen of the United States and eighteen (18) years of age or older on or before January 1, 2013. A director need not be a resident of Colorado.  The By-Laws provide that a director shall:

(i) have the highest personal and professional integrity, (ii) demonstrate exceptional ability and judgment, and (iii) be effective, in conjunction with the other members of the Board, in collectively serving the long-term interests of USATT. Directors shall possess the highest personal values, judgment and integrity, understanding of athletic competition and the Olympic ideals, and have diverse experience in the key business, financial, and other challenges that face USATT.

Board functions are in Sec. 7.2 of the By-Laws, available on this web site.

All nominations, whether by self nomination or otherwise, must be received by USATT, 4065 Sinton Road, Suite 120, Colorado Springs, CO 80907, or admin@usatt.org by the close of business on December 10, 2012.

All nominations  must include:

  1. at least twenty-five (25) signatures of support from USATT general members (membership must be current and in good-standing);
  2. a signed copy of the USATT_Code_of_Ethics, Ethical Behavior and Conflict of Interest (linked); and
  3. a written statement of not more than one page, single-spaced, 12 point font, that explains why the nominee wants the position and what knowledge and skills the nominee would bring to the Board of Directors (which will be published on the USATT Web Page);

The Nominating and Governance Committee will select the final two (2) individuals who will stand for election by the membership.  The election will be done electronically, but if any person is not able to vote via internet, a paper ballot will be sent to that person if there is a request received at USATT headquarters by December 10, 2012.  (The paper ballot will be sent as soon as the final two (2) individuals have been selected.)

USATT members may cast ballots as of December 31, 2012.   All votes must be received by January 21, 2013.  The results will be announced on February 4, 2013.
