The USATT is pleased to announce that Ms. Tara Profitt has qualified to be a member of the United States Paralympic table tennis team to compete in the Paralympic Games in London this summer. Tara was nominated by the USOC and then was selected by the IPC on the recommendation of the ITTF Para TT Selection Committee.
She joins Mr. Tahl Leibovitz who had already qualified to make the team through winning the Para Pan Am Games in Guadalajara Mexico last year and Pamela Fontaine who qualified by the world ranking. A second female player will allow the United States to compete in the woman’s team event in addition to their individual events.
"Words cannot express the honor and pride I felt when I received the news that I was chosen to represent the United States in table tennis at the 2012 Paralympics in London. This is a dream come true and was worth every bit of the pain and frustration I experienced while training to get to this point." (Tara Profitt)
"I am really excited about Tara’s nomination to the US Paralympic Team. As team partners and best friends we have both trained really hard to meet our goals and we are looking forward to representing team USA and bringing home the gold." (Pam Fontaine)
