Anne Cribbs selected to USATT Board of Directors
The Nominating and Governance Committee (N&GC) recently announced their selection of Anne Cribbs to serve out the reminder of the term vacated by the resignation of Dr. Harold Jeffcoat from his Independent Director position on the USATT Board of Directors.
The N&GC consists of Chairwoman Jill Chalmers, Daniel Parker, Bob Fox, Gilbert Skinner and Jasna Rather with CEO Mike Cavanaugh serving as staff liaison to the N&GC. It was their task to announce the position opening and identify, evaluate and interview candidates prior to making the selection according to their authority under our Bylaws.
USA Table Tennis is excited to welcome Anne Cribbs to the board of directors and thank the N&GC for their outstanding selection.
Anne's background as an Olympic Gold Medalist, a co-founder of the American Basketball League (the first women's profesisonal basketball league in the U.S.), the leader of San Francisco Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee's (BASOC) bid for the 2012 Olympics and a host of other leadership and executive positions is well respected within the US Olympic family.
BASOC, under Anne's leadership, organized the 2007 World Junior Table Tennis Championships, held at Standford University in December, 2007 featuring 196 competitors from 36 countries. She also participated in the recent 2011 Ping-Pong Diplomacy tour in China.
Born in Burlingame, CA, and currently a Palo Alto resident, Anne and her husband have nine children. She received her AA degree from Foothill College in 1974 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Stanford University in 1979. She was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2003, and is also a member of the San Mateo County Hall of Fame and the Menlo Atherton High School Hall of Fame.
