February 3, 2012

Athletes can qualify for the 2012 Paralympic Games in Table Tennis on the strength of their World Ranking in Class, or through their performance in Regional Championships. In addition, there are thirty slots available worldwide through Invitation by the Bipartite Commission, which is composed of representatives of the International Paralympic Committee and the ITTF Para Table Tennis Commission. Athletes are nominated by their respective National Paralympic Committee. To be eligible to be nominated, athletes have to meet minimum requirements.

The High Performance Committee (HPC) carefully reviewed the minimum requirements, Class Rank information, as well as the qualifications of our disabled athletes. The HPC is very pleased to announce that USA Table Tennis will be nominating the following players to the National Paralympic Committee / USOC as potential Bipartite Commission Invitation applicants:

Tara Profitt
Daryl Sterling
James Segrest, Jr.
Andre Scott

Please join the High Performance Committee, the Paralympic Developmental Task Force, and the USATT Headquarters Staff in wishing these four great competitors every success.

Thank you,
Ross Brown, Chairman
