USATT issued a complaint for behavior and actions made by Lim Ming Chui at the July 2012 Open Championships in Grand Rapids, MI. On December 7, a duly called hearing was conducted in front of a three-person hearing panel which included one active athlete. At the conclusion of the hearing procedure, the hearing panel suspended Lim Ming Chui from all USATT sanctioned events for the period of Jan. 1, 2013 through Dec. 31, 2013. When Mr. Chiu was informed of this suspension he appealed the decision to the USATT Board of Directors. The USATT Board of Directors is assembling a panel of three Board Members to hear this appeal. One of the Board Members must be an active athlete. This hearing is to be scheduled in early January of 2013.
While Mr. Chui’s appeal is pending, the one-year suspension from sanctioned USATT events remains in place. All tournament directors, operators, referees and umpires are so advised of this situation.
