Coach Daniel Rutenberg and Pamela Fontaine at the 2011 World ChampionshipsIt is with deep regret that the High Performance Committee receives the news of the resignation of Daniel Rutenberg as National Paralympic Team Head Coach.

Only recently was Paralympic table tennis brought under the management of USA Table Tennis. Daniel served as our very first Paralympic Head Coach. Therefore, he had to define the position as well as get the work done. He has set the bar very high. He has been exemplary.

Daniel’s athletes know him as a tireless worker and a loyal friend. Everyone who has worked with him is impressed with his keen insight, his strong commitment, and the breadth and depth of his knowledge.

Daniel, please accept our profound thanks. We wish you every success and happiness as you go forward, and we would greatly appreciate it if you would send us a clone. Right away.

Sincerely,
Ross Brown
Chair, USATT High Performance Committee
