What's New in Table Tennis - June 11
The U.S. women’s table tennis team, featuring four girls who are 14 or younger on the five-player roster, finished 16th at the International Table Tennis Federation Team Championships. Olympian Jun Gao, 41, was the veteran of the all-California lineup that included 14-year-olds Ariel Hsing, Natalie Sun and Erica Wu and 13-year-old Lily Zhang. The effort secured a spot in the 2012 World Championships, which are limited to the top 18 teams. Singapore defeated China for the title.
