Anne Deng (Katy, Texas) and Natalie Sun (Mountain View, Calif.) will challenge Hsing for the coveted position on the U.S. Team as they are closely rated at 2,349 and 2,282 points respectively. Deng and Sun were recent members of the U.S. Cadet Girls National Team.

In the boys tournament, 16 will vie for the sole position for the U.S. Team that will compete in Singapore next August. Leading the charge is Alexander Yao (Chesterfield, Mo.), who won the 2008 U.S. National Cadet Trials. He will be challenged by 2007 National Cadet semifinalist Michael Landers (Old Westerbury, N.Y.) and 2009 U.S. Cadet National Team member Grant Li (Acton, Mass.).

The roster of the eligible athletes is below. Table tennis will be one of 26 events contested at the inaugural multi-sport youth event.
