ITTF Level 2/Conductor Course

ITTF Level 2 and Level 2 Course Conductor Course Announcement

USATT will host an ITTF Level 2 and Level 2 Course Conductors course from October 30th through November 6th, 2012.  The venue will be the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and all course participants will stay in the USOC dorms.

The primary objective of this course is to train Level 2 Course Conductors.  USATT plans to offer regional ITTF Level 2 Courses beginning in 2013. 

In addition to the qualified USATT Level 1 Course Conductors, a number of International Level 1 Course Conductors, selected by the ITTF, will also be attending. 

USATT anticipates having 10 to 12 open slots for qualified USATT/ITTF Level 1 Coaches who wish to attend only the ITTF Level 2 Course.

Dates:  October 30 – Nov 6th, 2012

Schedule: 

  • Arrival Oct 29 - Everyone
  • Oct 30-Nov 4 – ITTF Level 2 Course
  • Nov 5 – Departure for persons attending only Level 2 Course
  • Nov 5-6 – ITTF Level 2 Course Conductor Course
  • Departure Nov 7 for persons attending Level 2 Course Conductor Course

Course Conductors: Philippe Molodzoff, author of the ITTF Advance Manual and creator of the ITTF Level 2 Course will be the primary course conductor.  Polona Cehovin Susin, ITTF Deputy Executive Director for Training and Education, will assist Philippe for the Level 2 Course Conductor Course.   

Grading: The ITTF Level 2 Course offers much higher level of material than that found at the  Level 1.  There is a two-part test consisting of a vertal and practical exam. The test total is 20. Those that score 10-14 pass ITTF L2 but are not eligible to do ITTF L3 in the future and are listed as ITTF Level 2. Those that score 15-20 are eligible to attend ITTF L3 in the future and are listed as ITTF Level 2*.

Eligibility: Applications for the ITTF Level 2 Course are limited to coaches who meet the following requirements:

  • Current USATT Members
  • Currently certified as a USATT Coach
  • Currently listed on the ITTF Coaches Registry as a Level 1 Coach
  • Must have attended the ITTF Level 1 Course before November 1st of 2011 (1 year between courses)

Applications to attend the ITTF Level 2 Course Conductors Course is by invitation only and limited to USATT Level 1 Course Conductors who have successfully conducted a minimum of one ITTF Level 1 Course.

Costs: $325 for persons attending only the ITTF Level 2 Course.  This fee covers room and board for 7 days at the USOC (Oct 29-Nov 5th).  Level 2 Course participants are responsible for their own transportation to Colorado Springs.

Selection Procedures: Applications must be in the USATT office by September 3, 2012.  If more applications are received than available room in the course, the USATT Coaching Committee will make the selections based on:

  • USATT Certification Level
  • Activity level of coach
  • Performance during Level 1 Course
  • Regional Separation will be considered

Selected applicants will be announced on September 7, 2012.
