Carmel, IN – September 5, 2012… U.S. table tennis Olympian Timothy Wang made a special appearance at the 2012 BMW Championship on Wednesday to challenge the TOUR pros at a altogether different game. Wang, who was also the 2010 U.S. Men's Singles National Table Tennis Champion, set up shop in the Crooked Stick clubhouse and took on all comers as they came off the course during a 45-minute rain delay in Pro-Am play.
Among the PGA TOUR pros challenging Wang were Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar, who both held their own against the Olympian, while many others including Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose watched and cheered on their fellow players.
Timothy Wang was the only American male to compete at the London 2012 Olympic Games in table tennis after beating Barney Reed in a play-in match on the last day of qualifying in April 2012.
