Letter from the Executive Director

Dear USA Synchro Members,

This has been an incredible road I have taken through USA Synchro over the past 6+ years.  It doesn’t seem very long ago that I arrived in Colorado Springs at my first Coaches College and met several of you for the first time.  Now, I have been given the wonderful opportunity to lead this organization into the next phase of the USA Synchro journey.  I would like to thank the membership for all the well wishes and congratulations that I have received over the past few weeks.  It is very comforting to have that support, and I will do my very best to guide USA Synchro to be the organization everyone knows it can be.  I look forward to your continued support and all the hard work from the staff, volunteers, and partners of USA Synchro.

This is a very exciting time and we have several opportunities for USA Synchro.  I have some long term goals, some that will begin immediately and some that we will take some planning before implementation:

1-      Return USA Synchro to the podium.  Myriam Glez, our High Performance Director has already had a great impact on the National Team Program and I only look for this to continue.

2-      Increase the USA Synchro membership.  Nancy Rosengard, our VP of Membership and Marketing and the staff have been working together and will focus on retention and acquisition of the membership, as well as decrease the attrition rate.  We will strive to increase the member benefits, and evaluate and focus on the overall Collegiate Program structure.

3-      USA Synchro becomes a more financially diverse and self-sustaining organization. Increase in sponsors and unique sponsorships, fundraising from the non-synchro community, and grow the reach of the synchro community.

4-      Create visible and highly entertaining National Championships.  With the assistance of Denise Shively, our VP of Competitive Operations, we will evaluate the overall event structure and the process for which we select the host for each championship.

I have the privilege to work with several very intelligent and talented individuals.  With their help, a strategic plan of action, and a lot of hard work, I am very confident that we will make a difference for USA Synchro. 

I also have some short term goals to hopefully make an immediate impact on the organization:

1-      Organize the website for easier use, and implement a media plan for relevant content to be shared with our membership on the website home page, Facebook, twitter, and other social media outlets.

2-      Increase member satisfaction.  We will be reconfiguring the phone system so that a live person will answer all incoming calls during business hours.  We are a small staff, so there may be times when you still get the recorded greeting and the menu options, but we want our membership to be greeted by a live person, as much as possible.

3-      Friends of Synchro Membership Drive.  This began on 3/17 and will continue with different opportunities through 7/31.  Please look for information to help increase our membership.

4-      We currently have a position open and will be hiring a Business and Sport Development Manager that will work closely with me in the Indianapolis office.  The job description is available HERE.

We have a lot going on and to prepare for, but these are all positive and good for the organization.  I would like to thank everyone again for the support that you show for USA Synchro, please know that it is truly appreciated.  Lastly, just because I took the Executive Director Position does not mean that I cannot take your call or email.  I am still very available for your questions, concerns, and I always enjoy hearing positive comments about the staff and organizational programs.
