US Duet In 13th Place At French Open
INDIANAPOLIS - U.S. National Squad members Anita Alvarez (Kenmore, N.Y./Town
of Tonawanda Aquettes) and Sandra Ortellado (Walnut Creek, Calif./Walnut Creek
Aquanuts) are in 13th place in the free duet at the Make Up For Ever
French Open in Montreuil, Paris.
Alvarez and Ortelldo scored a 79.7667
in Thursday’s preliminaries and are tied with Greece’s Evangelia Papazoglou and
Alzigkouzi Kominea. The free duet final is Friday.
China’s Wenyan Sun and Xuechen Huang are in first place with 93.1000 points,
followed by Ukraine’s Lolita Ananasova and Anna Voloshyna (90.7667) and Japan’s
Yukiko Inui and Risako Mitsui (90.400).
Karensa Tjoa (San Jose, Calif./Santa Clara Aquamaids) is the U.S. reserve.
and Ortellado are competing for the first time together and are among the
youngest competitors at the event, as most of the other 25 duets are comprised
of senior national team members.
