INDIANAPOLIS - The spirit of the Olympic Movement will roll into Federal Way, Wash., as USA Synchro celebrates Olympic Day at the 2014 eSynchro Age Group Championships.

On June 30, swimmers competing at the championships will be presented awards by Olympians, receive commemorative certificates, see an exhibit of 1996 Olympic swimsuits, pose with life-size cutouts of Olympians and have a group photo taken to commemorate the day.

“USA Synchro is proud to be taking part in Olympic Day to remind our young athletes of the Olympic values and ideals,” said Kevin Warner, USA Synchro’s Executive Director.

“We are excited to take part in Olympic Day and inspire kids in the Puget Sound community,” said Emma Miller of PNA Synchro, the host of the 2014 eSynchro Age Group Championships. “USA Synchro and PNA Synchro are proud to support the Olympic Movement and encourage children to lead healthy, active lives.”

This USA Synchro activity is one of more than 700 events taking place nationwide between June 14 and 30. The events, designed to engage youth and promote the ideals of the Olympic movement, feature athlete appearances, family-friendly activities and interactive learning experiences.

Around the world, more than 160 countries take part in the annual celebration. Olympic Day, created in 1948 to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic Games, focuses on the Olympic values and ideals such as fair play, perseverance, respect and sportsmanship. In the U.S., Olympic Day events range from small gatherings to large, city-wide events.

The 2014 eSynchro Age Group Championships will take place from June 26 to July 5 at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. For more information on the championships, go to
