President's Update

Feb. 26, 2014, 10:49 a.m. (ET)

Boy, oh boy what a busy first two months for USA Synchro!

Judges’ updates and CCP courses have been held all over the country.  Thanks to all of the clinicians and participants for continuing to raise the level of professionalism of our organization.

A FINA Judges’ School was held in San Antonio the last weekend in January. Twenty-five participants from the Americas participated in the course given by our own Ginny Jasontek.  Thank you Melodie Wallace and Betty Hazle for organizing the very successful school and extending to the participants Texas style hospitality.

Thanks to Lori Zabel, Independent Director, the Board of Directors’ Winter Retreat was held at the Tiger Woods Conference Center on the Nike Campus.  What a wonderful place to meet!

As busy as we have been, I am even more excited about the rest of the year and the activities that we are planning to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Synchronized Swimming in the Olympic Games and the gold medals won by Tracie and Candy.  We will also celebrate Charlotte Davis, who coached them from “day one” all the way to the top of the Olympic podium.   Coincidentally, Charlotte is also being honored 30 years later by being inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

USA Synchro will also be honoring our other Olympians throughout 2014.  I look forward to seeing each of you at one or more of our celebrations of our rich history on the Olympic stage.

Regards,

Judy
