Stanford Wins Seventh National Title at US Collegiate Championships

U.S. Collegiate Championships set to begin at Stanford

INDIANAPOLIS The top collegiate synchronized swimmers in the U.S. will compete for national titles and a spot on the World University Games squad at the 2013 U.S. Collegiate Championships March 20-23 in Palo Alto, Calif. The championships, to be held at the Avery Aquatic Center on the campus of Stanford University, are an open-class meet, combining competition from NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA colleges and universities.

The event will be webcast free at starting March 20.

Ohio State won its 28th collegiate overall high-point title at last year’s championships, edging the University of the Incarnate Word. The championships will feature solo, duet, trio and team competition, with all finals on March 23. Tickets will be sold on-site March 21-23 only. Ticket sales will open 30 minutes prior to the first event start time each day. 

Prices: All-event pass, $25; Thursday and Friday, $8; Saturday, $12.

The U.S. team for the World University Games will be announced on Sunday, March 24. The World University Games synchronized swimming event will be held July 5-9 in Kazan, Russia. Qualified swimmers will also compete for a spot on the U.S. World Championship team on March 24. The 15th FINA World Championships are scheduled for July 20-27 in Barcelona, Spain.
