US Masters Championships set to begin in Florida
INDIANAPOLIS – Nearly 300 swimmers representing the United States and Canada
will compete at the 2012 U.S. Masters Synchronized Swimming Championships, Oct. 25-
28 at the Sarasota YMCA in Sarasota, Fla.
Swimmers ranging in age from 19 to 89 (including 10 men) will compete in overall team
and individual titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events, in addition to figures and
Competition begins Thursday, Oct. 25, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 28. The schedule
is as follows (including warm-up times):
- Thursday, Oct. 25: Solo, 8:30 a.m.-4:10 p.m.; figures, 4:15-7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 26: Duet technical, 7:30-10:50 a.m.; trio technical, 11:10 a.m.-12:35 p.m.; combo, 12:35-1:10 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 27: Trio free, 7:30-9:40 a.m.; duet free, 9:40 a.m.-2:40 p.m.; team tech, 3:30-7:20 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 28: Team free, 7 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Spectator ticket prices are $3 per day (Thursday, Friday and Sunday) and $5 on Saturday;
kids 10 and under are free. The championships will be held at the Sarasota YMCA, 8301
Potter Park Drive / Evalyn Sadlier Jones Branch.
The championships are hosted by SASSY Sarasota Synchro, Sarasota YMCA and the
Sarasota Sports Commission.
