INDIANAPOLIS – More than 200 elite athletes from across the country will take part in the 2012 SwimOutlet.com Synchronized Swimming National Championships at the Kino Aquatic Center in Mesa, Ariz., April 10-14.

This is the first year USA Synchro has combined its U.S. Junior Championships (14-18 year olds) and U.S. National Championships (ages 15 and over) into a single event, where both junior and senior national champions will be crowned.

The SwimOutlet.com National Championships, USA Synchro’s most important and prestigious championship, has attracted 225 swimmers from 30 teams, including three collegiate squads (Stanford, Minnesota and Incarnate Word).

Junior athletes earned spots at the national championships based on high scores at qualifying meets, and senior athletes qualified with top placements at previous elite meets.

“We are looking forward to showing off the benefits of competition in the desert,” said Josh Todd, Sports Development Manager for the Mesa Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Mesa’s investment into these dynamic facilities continues to cement our reputation as a premier aquatic event destination.”
