INDIANAPOLIS – The FINA Technical Synchronized Swimming Committee recently
appointed Kris Olson (Moneta, Va.) to serve as the United States Synchronized
Swimming judge at the 14th FINA World Aquatics Championships later this year. The elite international competition, which features all four aquatics sports, will take place July 16-31, in Shanghai. The appointment has been approved by the FINA Bureau.

Olson has an impressive resume as she served as a judge for synchronized swimming
at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. In 2000, she was the Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team Manager for Team USA in Sydney. Olson was named to the USA Synchro Contributor Hall of Fame in 2005 and received the 2008 Lillian MacKellar Award, the highest honor given by USA Synchro.

“Kris is an excellent judge and will represent USA Synchro well,” stated Betty Hazle, USA Synchro Chair of the International Relations Committee. “We wish her the best of luck.”
