USA Synchro Names Sandra Mahoney as Synchronized Swimming Team Leader for 16th Pan American Games

INDIANAPOLIS – USA Synchro is proud to name Sandra Mahoney (Ridgefield,
Conn.) as the official Team Leader for synchronized swimming at the16th Pan American
Games held later this year.*

Mahoney currently serves as USA Synchro’s National Team Director and is responsible
for four national teams, including the Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team. Her role
includes conducting team trials, hiring coaching staffs and facilitating training.

Mahoney graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Communications
before obtaining a Masters degree in Sport Management from the University of
Connecticut. She coached the New Canaan Y Aquianas synchronized swimming team
from 1996-2009 and placed numerous athletes on National Teams. She has been a
member of the USA Synchro National Team Coaches Pool since 2001.

The Pan American Games are the largest multi-sport event besides the Olympic
Games. The event also serves as synchronized swimming's automatic-qualifying event for the Olympic Games. The international event will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico, Oct. 13-30.
