Indianapolis, Ind. – The 2010 U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Team will put its skills to the test this week as it faces the world’s top competition at the FINA World Cup. The elite international competition will run Sept. 16-19 at the Changshu Sports Center in Changshu, China. The event will be hosted by the Chinese Swimming Federation and will crown champions in the solo, duet, team and combination events.
The 2010 FINA World Cup will mark the return of 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Member, Christina Jones (Fremont, Calif.). After spending last year performing in Cirque du Soleil’s “O” Show, Jones returns to the pool to debut new free and tech solo routines. The duet will feature Meghan Kinney (Mission Viejo, Calif.), who served as the alternate to the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team and Michelle Theriault (North Hills, Calif.).
The 2010 U.S. National Team is led by Jenny Ekhilevsky, who has coached on the international scene for 11 years and served as the 2008 Netherlands' Olympic Coach, and Kimmy McKinley, a former member of the U.S. National Team. The Team has been training in Santa Clara, Calif. since May.
