St Vincent Sports Performance Announces Partnership with US Synchronized Swimming

During the partnership announcement, the junior National Team will perform its routine for the upcoming 2010 FINA/eSynchro World Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships to be held Aug. 11-15 at the IU Natatorium. The internationally-sanctioned competition will feature the team and duet events, which are also Olympic disciplines.
Synchronized swimming can be described as an aquatic collaboration of gymnastics, dance and acrobatics, which blends athleticism and creative expression into a performance of both physical and artistic accomplishment.
Through the USA Synchro partnership, St. Vincent medical staff, strength coaches and athletic trainers will provide sports psychology services, functional movement screenings, body composition assessments and nutritional advice for the swimmers. The newly-formed relationship is inclusive of the National Team, Junior National Team, 13-15 Age Group National Team and the 11-12 age group development team.
USA Synchro is the fourth national governing body to join the Indianapolis-based sports performance program. St. Vincent Sports Performance also provides medical support for USA Gymnastics, USA Track & Field and USA Diving.
St .Vincent Sports Performance is the first and largest hospital-based program of its kind in the United States. The sports program currently provides comprehensive care to professional teams and athletes in an array of sports, including: Indy Racing League (IRL), NFL, NBA and the WNBA. St. Vincent Sports Performance also provides support for three universities and 30 high- school and middle-school athletes in central Indiana.

USA Synchro is based in Indianapolis and serves as the national governing body for the sport of synchronized swimming, appointed as such by the United States Olympic Committee. The mission statement of USA Synchro is "to provide leadership and resources for the promotion and growth of synchronized swimming, to achieve competitive excellence at all levels and to develop broad-based participation."
