Santa Clara Claims Speedo Junior National Championship Title

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Santa Clara Aquamaids scored 62 points en route to their second- consecutive overall High-Point Title at the Speedo Junior National Championships. The Aquamaids claimed gold-medal finishes in the solo and duet events while the Walnut Creek Aquanuts grabbed top-place positions in the team and trio disciplines.
The Aquanuts finished the competition in second place overall with 60 points.The New Canaan Y Aquianas finished in third place with 17 points.The meet featured athletes ages 15-18 competing for Junior National Titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events. The event was hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission and the Orlando Loreleis Synchronized Swimming Team.
Top routines from today's competition will advance to the 2008 U.S. National Championships, which will take place May 1-3, in Tucson, Ariz.
