VP Competitive Operations:
Denise Shively has been USA Synchro’s National/Olympic Team manager since 2003. In addition, she has served as the technical chair and officials' chair for the Ohio Association and the North Zone. She is a Level-4 national judge and has served on several national committees, including event management and championship sites. Shively, the head coach of the Columbus Coralinas, is a faculty member at Otterbein University in the Department of Communications.

Shari Darst, a current member of USA Synchro’s Figures Committee and the Officials Board, has also served as Vice President of Education & Certification. She also has been a member of the Image & Promotion Committee and Coach Administrator. Darst has served as the Administrative and Education Chairperson for the North Zone and has been Education and Officials Chairperson for the Rocky Mountain Association.
VP Marketing and Member Services:
Nancy Rosengard, a member of both the marketing and membership committees, served as the interim Treasurer on the Board of Directors in 2011. Rosengard is a life member of USA Synchro and has served as a volunteer in many areas including unaffiliated national figure official, East Zone Secretary, Association Administrative Chair and National Meet Manager. Rosengard has participated as an athlete and a coach in USA Synchro's Age Group, Collegiate and Masters programs. She enjoyed the sport as an age group/AAU athlete prior to being a member of the University of Arizona NAIA National Championship Team. Rosengard has been inducted in the Canton Jewish Center Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame. Rosengard works for a national consumer product goods company in the marketing division.
Tom Wiita has extensive nonprofit and corporate management experience. He has served as the West Zone Treasurer, OASS Treasurer, MAC Synchro Booster Treasurer and MAC Synchro Committee Chair. Wiita is a level 2F and 2R USSS judge. He has also served on the board of directors for two independent schools, one as board chair. Wiita has been CEO of several companies, a product inventor and a company founder during his business career in the medical-device industry.
Kim Probst, the head coach of the Walnut Creek Aquanuts, has been the Athletes’ Executive Council President since 2010. She was USA Synchro’s Developmental Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2012, and was coach and manager of the U.S. team at the 2012 FINA World Trophy. Probst, the 2008 U.S. Olympic team captain, was an 11-time National Team member. She won gold medals at the 2007 Pan American Games and the 2006 FINA World Trophy Cup, and was a bronze medalist at the 2007 World Championships.
USOC Athletes' Advisory Council Representative:
Olivia Morgan, a student-athlete at Stanford University, was a member of the U.S. National Team from 2006 to 2012. She was a 2011 Collegiate High Point Athlete and a Collegiate All-American. Morgan was a member of the 2012 U.S. National Team that won bronze at the Spanish Winter Open.
Kent Bergene is Vice President of Products, Columbia Management division, for Ameriprise. He oversees unaffiliated firms serving as sub-advisors to Columbia funds and serves as co-manager of various funds. Previous responsibilities within Ameriprise included stints in business development, product development and creative assignments to solve specific business problems. A graduate of the University of North Dakota, Bergene traces his roots to several small towns in North Dakota. His personal interests include photography, numismatics and the history of sports in America.
Evelyn Zabo is Director of Global Alliances at Microsoft. She is a passionate community activist and has served on countless non-profit boards, particularly in the areas of arts, community improvement and education. She is currently the president of PONCHO, Washington State’s premier arts-funding organization, and also serves on the boards of the Seattle Opera (on the Marketing and Education committees); the American Red Cross of King and Pierce counties; the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire Foundation Board; and the Association of Junior Leagues International, an international women’s organization of more than 160,000 members dedicated to community involvement and developing the potential of women as catalysts for change. Past board involvement includes the United Way, the Pacific Northwest Ballet and the Junior League of Seattle, for which she served as president.
Lori Zabel is an accomplished leader with a proven track record of driving business and brand strategies in global markets for world-leading iconic brands. She has worked at Nike, the world’s largest sports and fitness company, since 1996 in a variety of roles that have afforded her broad and diverse experiences in managing the Nike brand, including roles in Sports Marketing, Advertising and Apparel Product Creation. She is currently Nike’s Global Sales Program Manager. Prior to joining Nike, Lori led National Sales for Walt Disney Records and Audio Entertainment based in Burbank, Calif. Lori has been an active participant in sports all her life, including competitive junior tennis, half marathons, triathlons, Stanford Masters, and US Masters Swimming. She lives in Portland, Ore., with her husband and three children.
Margaret Mahoney earned a law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in May 2010. Mahoney has been the County Attorney in Logan County, Kansas since July 2011. At the same time, Margaret became a named partner in the law firm Hirsch & Mahoney LLP. In addition to her current position on the USSS Board of Directors, Margaret serves as the Vice President to the Oakley, Kansas, Chamber of Commerce. Mahoney spent 11 years in synchronized swimming before attending law school.
James Anderson is Global Sales Director, Unified Computing for Cisco Systems, Inc., where he ensures cross-functional execution and performance of Unified Computing Sales worldwide. Before that, Anderson was Global Operations Director for the U.S. Department of Defense. Anderson is the Board of Directors Chairman for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and was a member of the board of directors for Lifeworks.
