Good Luck in China, but as we all know there isn't to much luck involved in team sports, just a lot of talented young women, making us all proud.

I accidently was watching one of the NBC Olympic's Channels and they were showing fencing where 3 US Girls won Gold, Silver, and Bronze. That's what happens when USA wins too often, they take the sport out of the Olympics. Believe me fencing isn't anywhere as exciting as softball.

Who made the decision to remove softball in 2012, maybe they should ask the fans instead of executives?

I am 65 years old and once played on a Babe Ruth Base Ball team for three years we won 44 straight games by wide margins and then had a catcher (me) pitch the 45th game, we lost 17-15. I warned them to leave me in as catcher.

Get the Gold in Beijing:

Team USA,

A phenomenal showing in your Japan and comeback game against Canada. Natasha, the home run hits are awesome and Mendoza finally broke through with some major clutch hitting and a pair of homers herself. Lauren, great first at bat, however if you watch the playback, you were definitely safe, just like the coaches called. I guess you can't get every call but I'll know that you were safe in your Olympic at bat! Monica also is having a great rally at the games, keep it going for us, were almost there and I'm up every night watching.

We watch every night here no matter how late the hour gets. And so now we wait and watch anxiously wishing you each the best towards accomplishing your goal of bringing home the Gold in 2008. Good LUCK!

Congrats all of ya'll for making the Olympic team.... I know ya'll will do great!!!

Your dedication and hard work to Softball has inspired many of the young players to strive harder. I know you definitely changed my life.

Monica Abbott great job on your college win and beating so many records. Every time I saw your team play, I watched and I rooted for you....

Cat Osterman your a great pitcher and I definitely root for a fellow Texan....

To the rest of the team you have all inspired many to work hard for the sport they love.... and in all of that you have each been given the title of a hero.....

You have all inspired myself.... I have played Softball my entire life...

When I moved to a new state I had to start all over in sports and life, but I just looked back at all the hard work I can do to make myself be the best I could be....

My Junior year of high school I became the Co- Captain for my Varsity team and it was only my second year on the team, This year will be my second year as Co- Captain, and as well as this year I will be an All- star.... Thank you guys so much for showing that hard work does pay out in the end....

Good luck in Beijing.... I know ya'll will have fun and do the best you can....

Love,

Lauren, Cat, Kelly, Stacey and all of Team USA,
I've watched all the games you've played so far on tv, both complete games and the partial against Canada. You guys really rock. Two no-hitters in a row in the Olympics is awesome. Cat, Jennie and Monica, you are all on your game and it's a pleasure to watch you pitch. Stacey, you are doing incredible behind the plate. Lauren, Kelly, Caitlin, Natasha, Crystl, you are all doing absolutely awesome as well. I send you all every ounce of spare energy I have as it must be tough with games every day. I'd say best of luck again, but the more I think about it the more I know you don't need it. You're going to take that gold no matter what. I'll be cheering you on at every game I can possibly watch, which will be them all.

Love from the USA,

When I was 14 years old and a freshman in high school (1975) I walked out on the terrible softball field we played on and dreamed of playing in front of large crowds cheering for us. When the summer olympics rolled around I dreamed of being on a softball field with an opportunity to win a gold medal. Much to my naive dismay, softball did not exist. In my senior year in 1979 I went to my guidance counselor (male) and asked if any colleges were offering partial scholarships for softball. My parents did not have the money to send me to college and, being a great first baseman and having good grades, I had so hoped for an opportunity to get to college. He laughed me out of his office. Jump ahead to 1996 - I pinched myself black and blue my dream was a reality! No, I wasn't playing there but my dream of seeing softball in an olympics had come true. Better yet, Dot Richardson who is two years younger than I am, was playing in these games. I thought -- it could have been me. As I watched the ladies on the olympic podium receiving their gold medals I cried tears of joy with them, proud to be an american, but at the same time knowing they realized that dream I had at 14 years old. Women's sports came to the forefront that day and continues to do so to this day.

Ladies - everytime you step out on that field you not only realize the dreams of little girls, but of we old ladies too! Standing in your shadow is me and everyone else like me who dreamed a dream as a little girl, a teenager, and an adult. Your talents speak for itself. You are the fortunate ones. Our country has the best pool of softball talent I have ever seen. Many tried for the olympic team and did not make it. Your success is why the college softball world series appears on ESPN. Softball on a major sports network - WOW!

The gold is yours for the taking. You and your families have sacrificed for this to happen and you all deserve it. When the gold medal is placed around your necks, think of me and so many others like me and all those little girls out there who now have a dream that can become a reality.

Team USA,

You guys are truly amazing and by far the best. You’re all my heroes. I am really looking forward to watching the rest of your games, even if I have to wait until I get out of school to watch most of them, since I have to record them. I will for sure be cheering you on and I just want to say congrats on the wins against Venezuela, Australia, Japan, and Canada. I want to wish you all the best of luck in Beijing, bring home the Gold, again! = ]

Dear Team USA,

Hey my favorite sofball team ever! Are you enjoying Bejing?! Let's go for the gold! A few months ago I went to go and see the greatest game ever played in stockton California! I got a pink headband, an 08-08-08/bound for bejing braclet, plus a program, and a softball signed but all of the played except Jennie Finch. I held a special spot for Jennie to sign on my Jennie Finch glove that I had owned for several months before morada softball season started. I was going to have Kat sign it too but since it was a Jennie Finch glove I decided to let her sign it only. And with all those people in line, it is amazing how she signs without even looking! I want to with all of the team outstanding luck in Bejing because team USA will win!! I have amazing hopes that the 2008 olympic USA softball team with go for the glory! I am a huge fan of all of the team and the always give their all in everything they do! I wish you guys luck and I hope you succed in the olympics! I am your number 1 fan and please don't forget me, I would clean your house for you if I could! I wish you the best!

-I'm not really sure what inspirational words I may give you all during your journey in Beijing for Gold. However I can relay to you what in inspiration it was to see you all play in Ohio, TWICE! I played softball for about thirteen years and watched a few of you since the '96 games, it's still surreal to me that I met you, especially in your journey to your 4th Gold. I know you will make America proud and we, as a country, will bring Softball back to the Olympic Games in 2016. I hope these words of encouragement keep you going this coming week. Softball has made an incredible impact on our family since our daughter started in t ball back when she was 6. You all have been her “mentors” since she started watching you all play on TV. She has met most all of you many times and even attended “Fantasy Camp” for a week with 9 Olympians and had the time of her life! We have watched 2 barnstorming games, this year and 4 years ago and to be able to see people that she has thought of as her big sisters for years makes the long lines and crowds all worth it!

(Although, my husband is just as bad…because his “mentor” is Coach Candrea!)

Just wanted to pass along how much you all mean to millions of girls all over the world, tell you all good luck and of course HAVE FUN! We’ll all be watching! Go USA!

Team USA,
We are so excited that the Olympic Games are about to begin, and will be with you all of the way. It was an honor to see you play here in Rapid City, South Dakota, and our family will not only cherish the memories from that night, but your Olympic journey with us always.
You are all not only amazing athletes, but more importantly, amazing human beings that make me proud that you are representing our country, and the things you are doing, you do for the right reasons.
Enjoy the experience and bring home the gold! We will celebrate with you!
God bless you and your families!

We bought tickets back in April to see the best team ever play in Killeen, Texas we never expected to meet the greatest athletes in the world. We had the opportunity to meet you, take pictures with you, and every single one of you greeted us with a great big smile. Wow what character, we were truly impressed, the impact you (team) had on all of my family that day. My daughter to this day talks about it like it was yesterday. My hats off to you, make us proud in China, practice, practice, practice, and yes practice. GOD BLESS TEAM USA!!!!!!!! Your Friends, Rueda Family &nbs p;

I just want to tell all of you the best of luck in the games in China. You as a team have done so much for the sport. I am a softball coach myself and my daughter is a pitcher and she just loves watching y’all play and will be glued to the TV along with me to watch every game we can. All you ladies and coaches represent the USA so well I hope to see you get that gold medal. As long as you go out and do your best that’s all we can ask for. I personally am going to write my opinions about them taking this sport out of the Olympics it is wrong and i hope with the help of others they will change this. Again work hard good luck and bring that gold home!!!!!

Sincerely,

George Whitheurst

Hello I am just one of the girls softball's millions of fans back home but I have followed the team on their bound for Beijing tour religiously. As a former coach and manager of youth Travel teams and league play I am very much interested in the success of this team. I have no doubt that the women are the best of the best but I also know they have a bull eye on them every game but I fully believe that Team USA will bring home the gold as usual. I just wanted to write and wish each lady the very best and I will be staying up very late to watch each game live. GOLD IS THE COLOR OF CHAMPIONS AND THAT IS WHAT THE U.S.A. is!

Team USA,

It's been fun watching as you all have tuned up for the Summer Games. You have all worked extremely hard, pushed through adversity and sacrificed not only on the field but off the field as well to prepare yourselves for the ultimate test. It's amazing to see such a positive, hard working, team oriented group of young women work as a complete unit 1-15 every game. You are truly great role models for ALL the athletes out there and I am looking forward to watching the real Dream Team compete for another Gold! I wish you all the best of luck and for a safe and fun trip while overseas. Go USA!!!

GO TEAM USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – Sheree Scott

We are proud of what you represent: a clean competitive sport, yourselves {quality individuals who are a true team}, and the U S A. Be safe, have fun and play your game. The rest will take care of itself. Keep working to have the sport that the youth of the World respect and look up to reinstated in the Olympic venue. Yours truly, William Britton

Just wanted to say that it is awe inspiring to watch you take the field. I enjoy every second of every game. Thank you for what you do and God bless you all for representing a great sport and our great country the way that you do.

Now go get another Gold and bring it home.

P.S. It is a horrible shame that softball/baseball won't be around in 2012, I am truly sorry

Good Luck at the Olympics! I'll Be Watching Jordan,Wichita Impact Fastpitch 2B & P

Good luck ladies. I know that you ladies are gonna make us proud. watching you guys play in Salem was the most amazing thing I ever saw. Watching y'all is inspiration for me to work so much harder to become an amazing athlete like you guys and meeting some of you honestly made feel like a six year old. Just being able to say hi or even have a small conversation is a dream come true. I pray one day i can play along side most of y'all. this coming softball season will hopefully my best because its my senior year and I will make it my goal to give it more than what i got because that’s what it takes to play like you ladies playing in the Olympics soon. Hope this letter wasn't... well too long winded. Good luck and I love all of you ladies.USA Softball = Gold

From a big fan,

I am the proud mom of a daughter who played softball both Travel and on an 11 year consecutive League Champion Varsity Team that competed in CIF Division IV High School in California. I believe a few of the current Team USA Members even appeared at our San Dimas Classic in past years. I am ecstatic about the fact that Softball still remains respected enough to continue in the 2008 Olympics. My message for the team is the same as it was for my daughter for all her years and her many team mates. !

"Do what you do best, and have fun doing it Ladies!"

Go Team USA, bring home the Gold! S- Engelfried

Just wanted to say good luck to all members of the team including the communications staff (Julie and Holly).

Bring back the GOLD!!!!!
