ASA unveils new National Championship awards look for 2013 championship season
OKLAHOMA CITY --- The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, is excited to introduce a new look and feel of the 2013 Adult and Junior Olympic National Championship Awards. Created and designed by MTM Recognition, the exclusive championship trophy provider of ASA, the new awards bring a fresh and contemporary look to many of softball’s most coveted honors.
“As we celebrate our 80th Anniversary, it was important to us to keep our look appealing to our audience and athletes,” said ASA/USA Softball Executive Director Ron Radigonda. “After the immense hours of practice, travel and sacrifice, earning the right to call your team an ‘ASA National Champion’ is something pretty special and what you take home or hoist in the air is a symbol of tremendous hard work and dedication. We want to provide items that our athletes are proud to display and keep for a lifetime.”

All National Championship awards, including the team trophies and individual awards, went through a re-design process. As per the ASA Code, the number of participating teams in each of the National Championships determines the trophy package each location receives. In addition, each National Championship team receives a new “Champion” banner customized to the discipline of the tournament.

"ASA was looking for a new, more contemporary look for their awards program working within a predetermined budget," said Jeff Weis, Creative Director at MTM Recognition. "The goal was to present a fresh new look while capturing the symbolic history of the program. Through the use of quality materials such as optic crystal and high tech processes like full color digital direct print, we were able to deliver an affordable, quality product while honoring the integrity of the ASA symbols and tradition.
