Former ASA Player of the Year and current Head Coach of the University of Oregon softball team Mike White provides insight to Responsible Sport Parent’s on how to coach their child. He also emphasizes the importance of encouraging youth athletes not to be afraid to practice something they are not good at.
“As a parent of a child that is not getting enough playing time, you need to figure out, okay, is this the right spot for me and what do I need to do to be able to get more playing time? Is it my effort at practice? Is it my actual skill ability? You know, give me a rating on my five physical skills.”
