Rocklin Girls Fastpitch Softball Among the Hundreds of Teams and Schools to Benefit from the Liberty Mutual Responsible Sports Program

Boston – Liberty Mutual Insurance once again will help 15 youth sports teams and schools with much-needed funding through the spring 2012 Responsible Sports Community Grant program. Over the past five years, nearly 200 youth sports organizations and schools – including several community youth softball teams – have realized the tangible benefits of the Responsible Sports™ program by being able to upgrade facilities, purchase new uniforms or equipment, and lowering or waiving participation fees through the funds received as grant recipients.

Youth softball teams across the country have actively participated in the Responsible Sports Grant program. The Rocklin Girls Fastpitch Softball team from Rocklin, Ca., was a Spring 2011 grant winner, and used its $2,500 award to help offset registration fees to help players that otherwise may not have had funds to participate.

As our economic environment changes, we are continually searching for new ways to keep our league's registration fees to a minimum while providing the same quality of program to our youth athletes. We are grateful for companies like Liberty Mutual who continually place importance on the value that youth sport brings to a community and its residents.” said Tonya Lee Rocklin Softball League administrator.

Now through May 31, 2012, parents, coaches, and club and school officials can help their favorite youth sports organization earn a grant by rallying community members to complete an online course about Responsible Sport Parenting and Responsible Coaching at www.ResponsibelSports.com. Each successfully completed quiz earns the organization a point; and the 15 organizations with the most points each will earn a $2,500 grant. Teams compete in small organization, large organization and school divisions.
