USA Softball Extends Deadline for National Team Coaching Pool Applications

The Amateur Softball Association of America / USA Softball, appointed by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as the National Governing Body for Softball in the United States, is accepting applications to form a pool of women’s fastpitch softball coaches for the next Olympic Quadrennium (2005 – 2008).
 
The USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Committee will select the coaches’ pool. Pool coaches will be required to participate in international events, player evaluations, selection camps and other specified events as part of a three year evaluation process. These events primarily occur in June, July, August and September of 2005, 2006 and 2007. Coaches will work under the direction of the USA Softball Women’s National Team Program Head Coach.
 
Pool coaches may be eligible for selection as a member of the Olympic Team Coaching Staff for 2008. This staff will be selected by the Women’s National Team Selection Committee in accordance with procedures to be approved by the USOC. Coaches may be required to take a leave of absence from their current coaching position if selected as an Olympic Team Coach in 2008.
 
To be considered as a candidate for the pool, please forward a letter of application and a resume which must include:
Your National Coaching and/or playing experience
Your International Coaching and/or playing experience
Your relevant clinic and/or speaking experience
The reason you would like to be a member of the pool

Deadline for applications has been extended to February 14, 2005 rather than the February 8, 2005 original deadline.
