Five heavy hitters visited Colorado for the First Annual Rocky Mountain Showcase. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, University of California Santa Barbara, Arizona State University, Lindenwood University and Lindenwood B Gold met up with Colorado State University to visit University of Colorado at Colorado Springs at their home rink.
Lindenwood walked away way with a 4-0 record in Colorado Springs, but the boys from Missouri might agree that it was by no means a cake walk. The physical and talented Arizona State left winning three and only losing one. Cal Poly SLO, Lindenwood B Gold and UCCS all walked away with a 2-2 record. UC Santa Barbara left winning just one game, but on any other weekend their record could easily be reversed. A short handed Colorado State headed back to Northern Colorado winless, but left with their heads high after a 3-2 loss to Arizona State on Sunday morning.
The team play in Colorado was exceptional this weekend, but there were a few players that grabbed the attention of those in attendance. For those around the NCRHA, keep an eye out for Lindenwood’s Casey Escarcega, Cal Poly’s Chris Kumata, the UCSB tandem of Mooney and Eliot, UCCS’s Jake Miller and Arizona State’s cannon Ryan Cotton.
The NCRHA and RMCRHA would like to thank all the teams, parents, friends and family that supported and attended this last weekend’s event.
