The voice of the National Figure Skating Championships

Paul McNeil of the Northeast Region died suddenly on Saturday, September 3 in his home.  Paul and his family lived in Norwood, MA just across from the Rolland Rink.

Paul taught skating for 40 plus years and produced many National Champions.  He was a major organizer within the Northeast Region and at the National Level.  He loved the sport of Roller Skating.

Paul was widely known as the voice of Roller Skating serving as the announcer at the National Championships for more than two decades and announcing two world championships hosted in the USA.

His wife Maureen and daughters Patricia and Paula survive Paul.  The 2011 Northeast Region awards banquet recently honored Paul this past season.  Paul also is the recipient of a national award for distinguished service by USARS board of directors.

Paul will be missed, but will remain in our hearts and remembered for his talent and dedication to roller skating.
