TEAM STAFF NEEDED

BY JANUARY 28, 2011.
To qualify the USA to send skaters in roller figure and speed skating to the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, our athletes they must first place in the top nine at the Pan Am Championships in Rosario Argentina, March 7 - 12.
The 2011 Pan American Games will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico, with roller speed skating and free skating as participant sports. Competition will take place on the following dates: Artistic Skating – October 23-24; Speed Skating – October 26-27.
Procedures approved by the USOC provide for selection of two USA Roller Sports Coach(es) (1 speed and 1 figure) for the 2011 Pan American Games.
i. Successfully pass a USOC approved background check.
ii. Possess a valid passport that does not expire until at least six months after the conclusion of the Games.
iii. Be available for entire duration of the Games.
iv. Be in good health and able to withstand the physical rigors of traveling with and working with the Team
v. Possess a high level, specific technical and tactical knowledge of the roller sport discipline for which he or she will coach.
vi. Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the FIRS International Federation Rules and regulations governing the Sports (CIC for Speed, CIPA for Roller Figure Skating).
vii. Possess experience and proven ability coaching individual athletes and teams at the national and international levels.
viii. Have proven ability to establish harmonious relationships with athletes and other team personnel, ability to manage athlete training and keep discipline and focus.
ix. Have proven record of performance at the national team level with USA Roller Sports.
Subject to allocations received from the USOC, an overall Team Manager may also be sent to Guadalajara. Resumes for this position should be submitted as well, but knowing that a manager may not ultimately accompany the team.
