In Remembrance of Millie Wilkins
USA Roller Sports wanted to sadly inform the membership of the passing of one of the Coaching Hall of Fame recipients, Millie Wilkins. Millie and her spouse, Cliff (Satch), were teachers of renown in the late 1930’s through the 1960’s. They both taught at Mineola in New York, at Queens Roller Rink. One of Millie’s many accomplishments included being awarded one of the first six RSROA Gold Dance Medals in 1946. In her last few years Millie received care at a nursing facility. She is survived by her son, Clifford Jr. (Butch) and niece Diane Zimmerman.
Satch and Millie were recognized by USA Roller Sports and inducted into the USA Roller Sports Coaches Hall of Fame during the National Championships in Philadelphia in 1991.
Roller Skating mourns the loss of one of the persons who made this sport great.
