Day 3 Rink Hockey World Championships

Sept. 30, 2009, 2:21 p.m. (ET)

On the last day of the qualifying round of the 4th Sub 20 Men’s World Rink Hockey Championships being held in Bassano del Grappa Italy, Team USA suffered a heart breaking loss to the Team from France. During the first half, we kept our cool, even though we got some bad calls against us, but we kept it together and was only behind 6-0 at the break. The second half started with a quick goal by France, followed by some rough play, a blue card, a few more bad calls by the referees and then everything started falling apart. We had to keep rotating people in because of foul trouble, and we weren’t able to get anything going. Try as we might, we just couldn’t get the ball into their net and the game ended with us losing 17-0. The boys fought hard the entire game, but we were out of our game plan and couldn’t get it back. We will go over this on Wednesday, our day off, and we will get it together for our first Finals game on Thursday. GO TEAM USA!
