The Rat City Roller Derby Team from Seattle appeared in Alaska for the first time Saturday night, November 21st, for what was billed as “The Saturday Evening Roast.” They took on Anchorage’s team the Rage City Rollergirls, in a bout held at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer, Alaska. This was the first bout the people in Palmer had ever seen. Playing to a packed house, the local Team put up a good fight against the more experienced Team from Seattle, but as we know, experience makes all the difference. Alaska’s Rage City lost to Seattle’s Rat City by a score of 194-85. All of the girls fought hard, skated hard, took hits and gave hits and the crowd loved every minute of it cheering on both Teams to the very end. Congratulations Rat City and Rage City for a good bout and great evening of entertainment!
