Every time Rhoads has been to the world championships, he has been the top American finisher. He has finished fourth a few times, but he's never stepped on the podium. He hopes to change that this year, with a goal of finishing in the top three at the world championships in Germany. Before that, he'll skate at the World Games in Taiwan in July.
In preparation, he's training two or more hours most days. In addition, Rhoads, who is a certified personal trainer, also lifts weights, runs, mountain-bikes and does some yoga and Pilates.
