The Elective Congress of the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) hold in Rome on February 7 confirmed again Sabatino Aracu (Italy) as President and Valerie Leftwich (Australia) as 1st Vice President for another four years term.
President Aracu obtained 125 votes against the 48 votes of adversary Carlos Orlando Ferreira Pinzón, FIRS Vice President. The congress, broadcasted in live streaming for the first time, with 84 countries watching, was marked by fair-play and the willingness to work all together so that Roller Sports may become part of the Olympic Games.
"President Aracu - Ferreira said - knows that I will stand by him in the next 4 years, struggling together with him to be included in the Olympic Games and for whatever else concerning ideas and initiatives for the promotion of Roller Sports".
The President of the Italian NOC, Petrucci and the IOC Member, Pescante welcomed , at Salone d'Onore of CONI, the Delegates coming from all the world, assuring their full support to the Olympic candidature of Roller Sports.
"This Congress is a milestone for FIRS- stated President Aracu- and we are ready to let the amateur approach for reaching the Olympic target and all the challenges to be faced in a professional way. We need the involvement of all of you to make our dream true".
